so the worst thing about the world (or, perhaps just the cafe i'm trying to work in) is the horrible dehydrated soul/blues/funk/r&b they play... sanitized dead grey covers of songs that maybe were hits, but are just a little too edgy for the soft brains that apparently its assumed that people have... and, i think as a result of that assumption going on for too long, people are starting to have. soft grey music for soft grey matter.
whatever it was a particularily spongiform cover of the white stripes fell in love with a girl... that song, whatever you might think are its merits or lack thereof, is all about urgency and crazy energy... sucked down to half tempo narcolepsy.. bah! the final nail in the suck coffin is that the lady singing didn't even have the whatever to keep it as "fell in love with a girl" ... we could have at least had some kinda lesbian overtones to keep anything interesting about the song. but no. that could shock or offend!! and it wouldn't sell as well!
well thats enough procrastinatory rage for a while. my ass hurts. i wish i could work at home, too much madness, too many guitars, and the worst desk/chair set up for miles around. almost done the fucking website at least. |

| i gotta get out in to the world... so i better procrastinate. |

where are we anyways?
so thom yorke is a prat. i'm not sure what he's trying to prove, but he's moaning about the ecological damage caused by enormous rock tours... fair enough, jet planes and traffic jams are going to kill us all, but whats with this? :
"Tours would continue because others in the band did not feel as strongly, he said."
so quit the band then. have some backbone thom! put your money where your mouth is, or shut up! i'm pretty sure the guy could live in a financial comfort most of us don't even dream of never leaving the house again, let alone the country. fuck.
what else? i think i have a blister on my brain from yesterdays crazy volume, trying out with some crazy local rockers. if thats going to continue i should get a helmet!
i've been really digging television marquee moon again, i used to have that album but, well i don't anymore, so i downloaded a bunch of it. the highs are high, but yeah, i guess the lows, i mean guiding light sounds like a fucking van morrison filler track. screw that! but i'm loving friction as much as ever. maybe more. i want to do a cover of it, mixed with captain beefhearts hothead... pretty much the exact same riff.
SHES A HOBO BY A TOASTER !!!
damn i think that record is at leah's house. and she doesn't even have a telephone! grrrrr.
HOT HEAD, HOT HEAD,
HOT HEAD...
yeah i think some song by one of those neo-new wavers like franz furrnads or somebody also uses the same riff... well hey, its a good riff!

yeah okay i have to get to fucking work or i'll never finish and never get paid and if i never get paid i'll never get back to b.c. to visit! and then i really will have to start punching myself in the head. |

| technology has poisoned my brain |
[Oct. 6th, 2006|09:49 pm] |
so i'm sitting here in a cafe, at my computer, about to do some work, and just taking a minute to finish the book i'm reading, which is getting all dramatic at the finish, and i almost finished it on the bus.
so i'm reading down this page of my book, but i just had answered an email... so i kindof still had one hand on the keyboard, and about halfway down the page i found myself pressing the arrow keys.
goddamn book wouldn't scroll!
edit** fuck i'm doing it again. |

| keeping it clean |
[Jul. 8th, 2006|05:46 am] |
this is how the streets get kept clean in montreal. strange psychedelic elephant buggys.
i guess they aren't "really" psychedelic. but it would fun if they were.

| random infernetts |
[Jul. 4th, 2006|01:51 am] |
so i'm searching the interwebnet thing.
basically i'm trying to remember the name of the butthole surfers side project that had a dog on the cover. like, what was buddys name? i don't remember. its all a blur. i seem to remember there was a really good song or two on that album, though. so in searching i came across this poster :

which i just happen to have a version of ON MY WALL!! because i'm a nerd and when i was like 16 or 17 or whenever, i was a huge nirvana fan, and saw this poster on the wall and whatever. i could describe the whole moment! but thats ridiculous.
anyways gibby hanes had somebody wing a shoe at his head, *zing* i don't think it hit him.. maybe it did. but he was all like, fuck it, we're out of here. some people seemed pissed off afterwards, (i mean, it was probably just some skinny converse anyways) but really i think they'd already played most of their set... pyschorockmadness.
and tad didn't play, which is too bad. especially since instead we were treated to the 'marvellous' chokebore, the only memorable thing about them being a: they sucked and b: the singer did a lot of backflips crashing onto the stage. but hey, thats probably a nerve wracking bill to be on.
i'll just finish by saying pere ubu is the motherfucking bomb. |

| QuOTe oF ThE DAY !! !! |
[Jul. 4th, 2006|12:51 am] |
via microsofft messngrrr :
" remember, you can make yourself invisible to everyone at any time "
good to know, good to know... i had, in fact, not realized that. but its likely to change my day to day behaviour, invisibility. can everyone do this, or just me?
looks like shoplifting just got a whole lot easier!!
(note: i haven't shoplifted anything in years... mores the pity!)
in other fancy news, the actual posters for the actual rock and roll throw down look pretty cool, i spent an hour or so on my knees spray painting them, till the stencil got too gooey to use... then it kinda broke... there are about 20-30 left to do, but there is enough done for a good run of posteringering. and then the other ones will just look fancy and different, for the final round of poster combat. wish i could take a photo of them... digital camera, where are you when i need you!!??!?!?!!
anyways. i posted the flyer digital version in the last post. but i'm up to my old trix, i guess. ..."tricks!!"...
yeah..
